At 33 years old, Rene Cormier cashed in his physical world to finance a nearly five-year, mostly solo, unsupported, and unsponsored motorcycle ride around the world. The travelogue of that ride, "The University of Gravel Roads" won the Bronze medal in the 2010 Independent Book Publishers awards, the 2010 Davinci Eye award, and a finalist in the Eric Hoffer Award for Short Prose and Literature. It is his first book.
