Richard Gilman-Opalsky is Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy in the School of Politics and International Affairs and the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory at the University of Illinois. Gilman-Opalsky’s research and teaching specializes in the history of political philosophy, Continental and contemporary social theory, Marxism, capitalism, autonomist politics, critical theory, and global social movements. Gilman-Opalsky is author of many books, including Spectacular Capitalism, Precarious Communism, Specters of Revolt, The Communism of Love, and Imaginary Power, Real Horizons. He is co-author of Communist Ontologies. His work has been translated into Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, and German.
