Richard is an author, broadcaster and speaker, having spent 35 years as a Baptist Minister.and has always had an interest in innovative and creative communication. Richard has been a regular contributor to Pause for Thought on BBC Radio 2 and Prayer for the Day, Daily Service and Sunday Worship on BBC Radio 4. His book , 'Stale Bread', is a guide to narrative preaching, and the 'Preacher's A to Z', is a preacher's companion on the craft and practice of preaching. 'Who Needs Words', is a comprehensive handbook for Christian communicators. In 2011 his first children's book "The Littlest Star" was written, illustrated, designed, printed and placed on sale within three weeks in aid of the Shooting Star Chase children's hospice. A newly illustrated version is now available from Lion Hudson in multiple languages. The star was followed by Albert the mouse, who features in six children's stories. He has since written on subjects as diverse as gardening, bereavement, pilgrimage and nativity sets! His book 'Postcards from the land of grief' has helped many through the hardest chapter of their lives.
