I find it difficult to talk about myself but below is my brief bio in no particular order: I’m a father of five and papa of ten. I retired from the Army. I have a degree in Biology from West Texas A&M and one class short of a degree in Biochemistry. I didn’t go back in the fall to complete it because I was accepted to a medical school. The second semester of my second year I flunked the respiratory class. I re-took it in the summer and failed it again. So much for being a doctor. I own a small business with one of my sons. I’ve held local public office. I’ve held various offices in a veteran’s organization and am currently a commissioner on my counties veteran’s commission. I served as co-chair on the Health and Safety Committee at the regional level of the American Red Cross. Den Leader with the Boy Scouts and on the Parent Committee for the Girl Scouts. And other stuff. I love to fly. I love the outdoors; sitting, watching and listening to nature. I love mountain climbing. I love glacier climbing/traversing in a three-man rope team. Although it’s been a while on both counts. Also, downhill and cross-country skiing, photography, metal working including fabrication and welding. I like restoring old cars, reloading and plinking, cutting and splitting firewood as well as swimming and motorcycle riding. I do love sitting around a campfire enjoying a dark cigar and with a fresh ground cup of coffee. Above all, my true passion is pondering, contemplating, analyzing and learning about anything and everything. Oh, and writing.
