Robert McCue, an avid reader since he was in the third grade, began writing in 1998 "just to see if I can!' No one was more surprised than Robert when his second novel, Keeping Karen Alive, placed second place out of fifty manuscripts in the in Houston Writers Conference contest, Mainstream Fiction category. In addition to Keeping Karen Alive, he has completed two other novels, as well as several short stories. Although Robert has no formal education as a writer, he has spent many hours online and at the public library researching the craft. He studied articles on the subject by some of today's top selling authors. Robert has worked in the Petroleum and Petrochemical transportation industry since 1981, but would like nothing better than to write full-time. He is presently working on his fourth novel, called The Family Album. He lives in Deer Park, a suburb of Houston, Texas, with Sondra, his wife of forty years, a Cocker Spaniel named Brandy, and three cats.
