Roberta Mazza is associate professor of papyrology at the University of Bologna and honorary researcher at the University of Manchester where she taught ancient history and classics from 2009 to 2022. She has written on Byzantine Egypt, the history of papyrology and many other topics. Since 2012 she has a blog, Faces & Voices, where she engages with cultural heritage issues connected with the practice of collecting ancient manuscripts.
