Hello there! It's great to make your virtual acquaintance. My name's Robin; I'm a volcanologist turned freelance science journalist, photographer and wannabe Time Lord based in London. Although my first and foremost loves are inevitably stories about volcanoes – on Earth, and on other worlds – I’ll happily write anything about ridiculous rocks and peculiar planets, preferably while in some exciting, far flung place. My work has appeared in, among other places, National Geographic, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Scientific American, Gizmodo, Atlas Obscura, Quanta Magazine, Nature, WIRED, Supercluster, Discover Magazine and The Verge. You can check out my writing, and my photography, over at robingeorgeandrews.com. My upcoming book — Super Volcanoes: What They Reveal about Earth and the Worlds Beyond — will be released in November 2021. Writing it kept me sane (well, relatively sane) during the pandemic. I can't wait for you all to read it.
