Hi, I'm Roger Helland. I grew up in Southern California but now live in Canada, near Calgary, Alberta. I love Mexican food, ice cream, baseball, powder skiing, music, reading and writing, teaching and preaching, and a good cup of coffee. My zeal is for the spiritual and missional renewal of the church--that pastors, church leaders and churches would thrive and flourish in missional disciple-making. Over the past 35 years, I've served as a pastor, Bible college and seminary professor, denominational leader, mentor, and the author of seven books. My current role is Prayer Ambassador for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and lead team member with Ignite Prayer Canada. Previously I served as District Minister of the Baptist General Conference Alberta. I graduated from Dallas Seminary with a ThM in Old Testament and Trinity Western University with a DMin in Leadership and Spiritual Formation. I've served in the Vineyard, Mennonite Brethren, Christian and Missionary Alliance, and Baptist traditions. I am a Pietist, committed to the Spirit and the Scriptures, and devoted to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. I have three children and six grandchildren. At present, Matthew 4:23-24; Acts 6:4; Jude 20-21, and Galatians 3:5 focus my life and leadership under the confession that Jesus Christ is Lord! My vision is for Christians, churches, and communities to experience revival.
