Ronald E. Hignite was born in Jacksonville, NC and grew up in Connersville, IN. He attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where he received both his graduate and undergraduate degrees. He is a former educator having taught at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, VA and worked in northeastern NC for most of his educational career. While in college he was influenced by the English poets, Byron, Shelley, and Keats, in particular John Keats. He has written and published a number of books. He has published four collections of poetry, four Christian works, three children's books, and three crime thriller novels. They are titled Reflections of the Soul, Visions of the Mind, The Crooked Road and More, The Beatitudes in Poems, The Ten Commandments in Poems, A Time to Live and a Time to Die, Christ's Miracles in Poems, Pictures in Poems, The Animal Alphabet (also in a bilingual version, The Animal Alphabet/El Alfabeto Animal), Where Has Gramma Gone?, and his three crime thriller novels, The Devil's Damsel, Looking in the Devil's Eyes, and Killer by the Road. He has also recorded and published audio books for each of the Christian works. His books can be viewed on his website at booksbyronaldehignite.webs.com. He currently lives with his wife in Greenville, NC. When he is not writing and enjoying family you can find him on the tennis court.
