I was born in Hamilton, New Zealand and grew up on a farm near a small town called Matamata. I have happy memories of adventures with my brothers which occurred as we explored the farm, which seemed massive to our little minds and bodies. I went to high school in that same town and then moved away from home, back to Hamilton, to study Business Management at the University of Waikato. I spent the first part of my life very career-driven and certainly enjoyed the benefits of that lifestyle. However, after twenty years of working around the world in the fast-paced advertising industry, I'd had enough. Being unsure what to do next, I took a year off to travel around Asia. What a blast! I absolutely loved that year and did wonder why I hadn't taken breaks away from my career earlier. It was during that time that I started to write Finding Your Bliss which was then renamed to Simplify Your Life. It was also during that time that I decided to retrain to become a psychologist. I enjoyed writing so much that while I was retraining I completed Simplify Your Life, and wrote two more books: * Simplify Your Life: Tips for developing a purpose-driven life and unlocking your potential, * Ready For A Career Change? Interviews with successful career transitioners, and 9 landmark questions to get you through a career change in one piece, and * Fresh Start: A guide to eliminating unhealthy stress.
