Shane Roberts has led an exciting life of dedication, exceptionalism, and also intrigue. In 1959, at seventeen years of age, Shane entered the military to begin an active career that spanned over twenty years. He served in the Navy in the Far East, with the UN in the African Congo, Hawaii and with the Service Forces Atlantic and Commander Atlantic Forces in a NATO role, then joined the Naval Reserve in the Navy Seabees. He also served in an administrative role in Hotel Company, then in the Battalion Intelligence Company. His unique skills and abilities also led him into the jungles of Central America on a clandestine mission during an extremely dangerous time, to attempt to free a defector to the USA. However, unfortunately, the defector and his entire family was assassinated, and his own life was in dire jeopardy, barely escaping the enemy. He also endured the post-Vietnam era stigma many veterans suffered but overcame those challenges. He secured jobs in the manufacturing industry and quickly rose to senior administrative positions to bring about innovative and positive changes. Seeing the public and community needs, Shane then turned his focus to those needs. He took positions in conservation, civic budget committees, becoming a Selectman and eventually becoming the Chairperson. He ran and secured terms for the position of State Representative. While there, his focus was on improving the infrastructure. The Speaker of the House also assigned him to serve on Public Works and Highways and Judiciary. The Judiciary committee offered him a position as a Superior Court Judge, which he declined. The conservative party then asked him to run for the State Senate. He suffered one of the earliest instances of bussed illegal voters from across State lines to defeat his run, solidifying his belief in voter registration and identification. Not dissuaded, he took on a new challenge as Director of Economic Development. Using this unique position, he was able to put all of his expertise into practice. Overseeing an area of four cities, he began to revitalize their depressed infrastructure and economies. His exceptional work later won him the commendation of the State Legislature. Among his accomplishments in those cities are; upgrading road infrastructure, obtaining grant monies to build a new sewer plant, developing, upgrading and installing new water resources to service the community, and by bridging the needs of the community while working with state and federal government officials. He first saw to the needs of the community; negotiating for the land and then installing a new water tank, by bringing the city’s police and fire units to enhanced readiness, by negotiating for and initiating and encouraging hundreds of thousands of square feet of new major national businesses, which in turn brought hundreds of thousands of shoppers to the mega stores from New England and Canada. All of this brought desperately needed tax revenue that revitalized the area communities and new job opportunities to young families. These communities are all thriving today under his early guidance and leadership. He has since retired from this work but had also become an educator and a Professor at the college level to assist young, developing minds. That brings us to the defining moment of all of his experience and life's work, the writing of this revealing book. Seeing the devastation, the Green New Deal would bring to the United States, Shane Roberts could not sit by and just let the destruction begin. Shane’s voice must be heard in opposition, and in instruction, as the USA is truly in real danger of collapsing from within if a socialist takeover attempt succeeds.
