Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Detroit, Shawn Arris is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, loving father of two, and best-selling author. After specializing in the third wave of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Shaw has devoted himself to the development and dissemination of ACT and its underlying theory and philosophy for the past years. Soon, Shawn provides Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training and program development internationally. Shawn has a primary interest in using behavioral principles to understand topics such as purpose, meaning, value, therapeutic relationships, and mindfulness. Shawn is passionate about helping people get out of trouble and move towards a worthy life. Shawn is not just a professional at his job; he is also an active member of the Association for Contextual and Behavioral Sciences and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. He also loves to do outdoor activities and travel with his beautiful family and his two miniature pinscher dogs.
