Shelly Hoover, Ed.D. Born in McCook, NE, USA (1965) Raised in DeKalb, IL Served in the US Navy, Norfolk, VA (1983-88) Married to Steve Hoover (1986) Shelly retired as a public school administrator in 2013 when diagnosed with ALS, a terminal motor neuron disease. She published her first novel, Timeless Sisters: Peace at the River, in 2020. Physical limitations have not stopped her from educating and advocating. ALS has paralyzed her body, so she types with her eyes. Shelly is a mother of two and grandmother of four. She lives with her husband, Steve, in the mountains of Northern California.
