Shinnosuke Kometani is a writer. He was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, in 1957. Upon graduating from the Department of Law, Rikkyo University, he worked at a newspaper and a publishing company, then launched a solo career as a writer. He is the author of numerous books including “Eiga Yuki ga Wakideru Tabako Meibamen” (Films with Great Scenes Featuring Cigarettes) (published by Doubunshoin), “Oi no Ryugi Ozu Yasujiro no Kotoba” (Style in Aging, Words of Yasujiro Ozu) (published by Environment Design Institute), “Puro-yakyu Kiseki no Gyakuten Meishoubu” (Professional Baseball’s 33 Huge Miraculous Comebacks) (published by Saizusha), and “Ozu Yasujiro, Kinoshita Keisuke, Nomura Yoshitaro...Ginmaku wo Mau Kotobatachi” (Yasujiro Ozu, Keisuke Kinoshita, Yoshitaro Nomura...Words That Glide Over Screen) (published by Honno Kenkyusha). He also engaged in co-writing and producing numerous books, including Katsuya Nomura’s “Nomura Mesoddo” (The Nomura Method) (published by Saizusha), Junzo Sekine’s “Iikagen ga Choudoii” (Half-ass is Just Right) (published by Baseball Magazine Sha Co., Ltd.), and Tatsuo Umemiya’s “Furyo Yakusha” (Bad Boy Actor) (published by Futabasha).
