Born and raised in Brooklyn to South Korean parents, Sujean Rim is an award-winning illustrator and beloved children’s book author. She’s written and illustrated over a dozen picture books, including the Birdie’s Big Girl series, Zoogie Boogie, and Take a Breath. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Sujean began her professional career in fashion, designing shoes and accessories for JCrew, Ann Taylor, and American Eagle Outfitters. Her stylish and whimsical illustrations defined the look of the popular lifestyle website, Daily Candy, and have played a major role in marketing campaigns for Tiffany & Co., Target, Destination Canada, and Trish McEvoy. Sujean’s love of fashion, the Peanuts, and yoga continue to inspire her creative process. She lives in New York with her husband, their son, Charlie, and two fun-loving labradoodles, Smudge and Nacho.
