Terry M. Wildman is of Ojibwe and Yaqui ancestry and was born and raised in Michigan. He is the Lead Translator and Project Manager of the First Nations Version: New Testament and Psalms and Proverbs, and Birth of the Chosen One, published by InterVarsity Press. Terry is also the founder and director of Rain Ministries, a nonprofit based in Arizona, and serves as the Director of Spiritual Growth and Leadership Development with Native InterVarsity. Together with his wife Darlene, Terry has been sharing the message of Jesus—whom they call Creator Sets Free—with Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island (North America) since the year 2000. As musical artists known as RainSong, they have produced five albums blending folk-rock with Native American instruments and melodies. Their storytelling and music have earned recognition from the Native American Music Awards (Nammys), the American Christian Music Awards, and a Grammy nomination. In addition to music and translation work, Terry and Darlene created The Great Story from the Sacred Book, a spoken-word storytelling CD that received a Nammy award for “Best Spoken Word” in 2009. They later released a companion booklet through Indian Life Ministries in Manitoba, Canada. Terry and Darlene live in Maricopa, Arizona, on the traditional lands of the Pima and Tohono O’odham peoples. Through writing, music, and speaking, Terry continues to walk the good road, offering a voice that bridges cultures and tells the Creator’s story in a way that resonates deeply with Native communities and beyond.
