Thao Khuat was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. She developed her love for books and arts at an early age. She avidly read comics and novels as well as painted for fun in her tween and teenager years. She moved to the United States in 2005 for her graduate degree in Engineering. Engrossed with school, work, and other activities, she forgot all about her old hobbies for a decade. In 2015, she started reading again which brought her a lot of joy. She also started journaling to relax, reflect, and recharge. Thao began hosting Airbnb in 2017 and found herself to be passionate about it. It suits her personality as a personal, curious, compassionate, and polished person. From one room, she expanded to two, and now, she also cohosts for other people’s properties. Having learned the best practices of AirBNB hosting from first-hand experience and others, she now wants to share her experience, knowledge, and wisdom to encourage people to open their front doors to others. She believes that the world will be a better place with ever more hosts as it shortens distances, removes the barriers, and brings people together.
