Born in Vineland NJ in 1969, Thomas Platania is the founder of ProCalcs, the leader in the HVAC design industry across the United States. Thomas and his beautiful wife Heather, travel the country, in their Motorhome, meeting new clients and learning how HVAC system designs are done in different parts of the country along the way. Together they have 4 amazing children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. Thomas has proven, anyone with the right determination, can overcome any diversity. Homeless at 17, living on the streets and a high school dropout, Thomas joined the military and in 1987 started in the HVAC industry. Over the years he has worked very hard to increase his knowledge and understanding in all areas of the HVAC Design industry. He has held every position in the HVAC industry from, installer, service tech, HVAC company owner, HVAC Design company owner and has been a representative for Trane and Carrier. Thomas is constantly seeking knowledge to better understand the WHAT and WHY of things. This knowledge has given him the ability to see in the now and in the future, rather then focusing on the past. Thomas has obtained many certifications, licenses and has won many awards in the HVAC industry to ensure he is on top of changes. He currently holds a Class “A” Mechanical Contractors license, NATE Proctor, Florida State CEU provider, RESNET National Class 1 Energy Rater, and is also certified in all aspects of HVAC design. His experience truly gives him the ability to look at every project from many angles to ensure that what is on paper can be a reality. As a business owner, Thomas strongly believes in Core Values and holds his team to those standards. This is one, of many reasons, ProCalcs has an amazing team, working hard every day.
