Those who know me, or have read either of my two books, Doom Saloon and Melodyland Opposite Disneyland, will see a common thread of religion in tension with mileau. The biggest issue underpinning Doom Saloon is the great clash of cultures with religion v. secularism at the center. Doom Saloon is about war and is a tragedy where everybody loses. Melodyland is a comedy. The main characters are portrayed with archetypical human flaws; but the whole book is fun-loving with a hyperbolic look at a slice of history and church history in central Orange County, CA. Tim works at the Orcas Island Ferry Terminal on beautiful Orcas Island, the Gem of the San Juans, in Washington State.
