A life-long Texan, Tom Blanton lives in Austin with his family, including three of the feline variety. He is a retired lawyer/lobbyist holding B.A. and J.D. (with honors) degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Law. The Message in the Painted Rock, which he wrote for his grandson, is his first published book.
