TRACY SALCEDO has written more than 25 guidebooks to a number of destinations in California and Colorado, including Hiking Lassen Volcanic National Park, which won the 2020 National Outdoor Book Award for Outdoor Adventure Guidebooks. Her other guidebook titles include Hiking Northern California Waterfalls, Best Rail Trails Northern California, Best Hikes Reno and Lake Tahoe, and Hiking Through History San Francisco. She has written Best Easy Day Hikes guides to the San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Boulder, Denver and other locales. Books of essays focused on adventure, natural and cultural history, and national parks include Search and Rescue Alaska, Historic Yosemite National Park, Historic Denali National Park and Preserve, and Death in Mount Rainier National Park.
