Less than one year before it hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, I moved to Vancouver, Canada, rolled up my sleeves, worked hard, earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, and went to work as a research scientist. Like so many others, as the economy faltered, I heard those dreaded words, “you’re no longer needed”. Now what? With the same drive and determination that led to my success at university and with industry, I launched myself into the world of business and in particular the stock market. We all need mentors. Guides. Leaders. People who inspire us. Encourage us. For me, Steve Jobs is one of those key people. Put a Ding in Your Universe is not another retelling of the life story of Steve Jobs. This book is a compilation of the wisdom of one of the most successful and innovative business leaders of our generation. It brings together a significant number of Steve Jobs’s talks, interviews and articles spanning a time frame of more than 20 years. Every single major presentation is linked in this one volume. This book is definitely NOT a difficult, technical, hard to understand, complicated and complex guide to finding success in business. It’s concise. It’s practical. It’s written for everyone. Put a Ding in Your Universe is the premiere volume in a new series of publications I’m launching that chronicle the wisdom of some of the world’s most successful and innovative leaders. And Steve Jobs is definitely one of the greatest leaders in business in our generation. Be inspired. Be encouraged. Be guided to put a ding in YOUR universe.
