Vernon Roberts brings extensive business experience to his work as a coach, author, instructor and speaker. His background in sales, customer service, and business management give him the ability to understand the real-world challenges that his clients face in their work.
Vernon creates a positive learning environment and provides masterful coaching that allow participants to achieve rapid and permanent growth in their skills as communicators and presenters. He helps his participants develop new strengths in the methods they use to structure their communication content. He also coaches them on the skills needed to deliver that content in a confident and credible way, which assists them in achieving their business goals.
With 20 years in the banking and finance industry, Vernon gained experience in retail sales and operations, finance, training and development, and customer relationship management. Vernon spent more than 17 years rising through the ranks of Bank of America, eventually becoming Senior Vice President focusing on Strategic Learning Solutions. After leaving Bank of America, he founded his own successful training and consulting business, Evoke Learning, Inc.
Vernon co-authored The Gift of Success and Happiness in 2011 where he challenges his readers to transform their lives by utilizing business process principles.
He believes that learning exponentially increases and results improve significantly when people are emotionally engaged in and committed to the learning process. This belief, combined with his own passion for learning, is at the foundation of Vernon's engaging teaching style.
Vernon is an accomplished classroom trainer and coach, who is also highly proficient at creating and delivering "virtual" training experiences via e-learning, telepresence, video, and the use of collaboration technology platforms. He works closely with our design team to create new solutions, and is often a lead trainer on those offerings.
Vernon holds a B.A. in Economics/Business Administration from Western Maryland College and an MBA in Finance from Loyola College, Sellinger Business School in Baltimore, Maryland (USA).
In his off time, Vernon enjoys fitness activities and contributes to his community through volunteering. He is currently a district officer for Toastmasters International where he work with clubs to improve the communication and leadership potential of their membership. He has served as a board member for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, a service for the elderly and has acted as a coordinator for corporate involvement with Habitat for Humanity, an organization that provides newly-built homes to deserving families.
