With Eastern European ancestry on her father's side and English on her mother's side, Vicki blames her DNA that influences her stories. Many of her characters bear the names of ancestors who lived in the Regency and Victorian eras in England or are dedicated to their memory. The author believes it's a beautiful way to memorialize their lives in the time periods in which she pens her stories. Vicki resides in the beautiful, but rainy, Pacific Northwest with a pesky cat who refuses to let her sleep in. Her hobbies include researching her English ancestry (actually it's an obsession), traveling to England to visit dead relatives, meeting newly discovered distant cousins, and plotting her next book. She is also an award-winning author, writing under the pen name of J. D. Burrows (Women's Fiction) and writes Gothic fiction under the name of Victoria Raven. She has also developed a series of journals to encourage her readers to write.
