Wade Armitaneu is a writer whose work emerges from lived loss.

After sharing twenty-four years of marriage with his wife, Wade became her primary caregiver through terminal cancer. What followed was not only the gradual loss of the person he loved, but the quiet, isolating reality of caregiving — the exhaustion, the constant vigilance, and the loneliness of carrying responsibility that few people truly see or understand.

Watching his wife die was not a single moment, but a prolonged experience marked by anticipatory grief: loving someone deeply while knowing, every day, that time was running out. During those years, Wade learned how isolating devotion can become — how strength is assumed, how pain is minimised, and how the inner world of a caregiver often goes unnoticed.
