I have always been fascinated by the topic of leadership; specifically, is there a "secret sauce?" Yes, there is!! And Leading Business Teams provides the recipe. I joined the faculty at the Rutgers School of Management & Labor Relations in the Fall of 2022. Prior to joining RU, my corporate experience featured both line and staff positions, culminating in over 20 years of people and organizational responsibility across multiple industries as a highly accomplished CHRO/CAO in the Fortune 500. Having reported to 12 different CEOs in my career, I have seen the impact of organizational leadership (positive and negative) through many lenses. I have been privileged to serve on numerous Advisory Boards, including as an elected member of the Smithsonian Science Education Center in Washington, DC. I have also been a member of The Conference Board, CHRO Council. In addition, I have been active with and had leadership roles with several HR associations, spoken at numerous human resources and business conferences and had my views on HR matters featured in multiple media outlets. In 2008, I wrote The Truth about Thriving in Change (Pearson Education). A lifelong learner (and question-asker), I earned my Ph.D. at the Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. I hold three master’s degrees, including an MBA; have taken executive education programs at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland; and received my executive/organizational coaching certification from the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) in Sydney, Australia. My undergraduate degree is from Rutgers College. When not in the classroom or consulting, I can be found enjoying sunsets and all that Long Beach Island (NJ) has to offer with my wife, Coleen.
