Surviving the Michigan blackout of 2003, a tiny seed sprouted in author e a lake’s mind. A dystopian/post-apocalyptic dream some years later gave life to The Darkness and WWIV (World War 4). lake puts his storytelling ability to paper. He creates tales for the post-apocalyptic world in his WWIV series with the likes of George Orwell as a mentor (they share a birth date and actual first name – not George) Even his mother found these tales disturbing, compliment or not. Born to average means in southern Wisconsin, in his younger days he spent a great deal of time in the outdoors with his father. Now, lake breaks out of his boring “day” mold (where he works as an accountant) to dare readers to enter the world of The Darkness, highlighting the struggles of the average person (men, women, and children) in a time no one ever hopes to see.
