Alyssia Charisse, who writes as "unLYSHed," is a poet, visionary, and lover of love. At the age of 22, LYSH experienced a trauma that upset her perspective on life; that, in addition to years of mishandling and being abused in romantic love and relationships, led her to hide the trauma she could not overtly express in poetry. After feeling spiritual liberation by an expression of her truth, LYSH presented to her campus of Clark Atlanta University a theatrical event where she shared her work publicly for the first time. This made plain for LYSH where her passion lay, and she made a commitment to continue to write. What was once a means of escape, became a vital part of her identity that initiated deeper connection with God, healing, and a journey to self-love, self- discovery, freedom, and the claim to worthiness. Years later, LYSH wrote and published "The Sunflower Project," and secured the title of author. LYSH has a mission to continue to walk in purpose by granting her heart its opportunity to speak, pouring out her truth to inspire others to embark on their own journeys to healthiness, happiness and wholeness – as they each deserve.
