Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, Kobe University, where he teaches intellectual history and contemporary social theory. His research spans Foucauldian political thought, climate movements, political ecology, and contemporary capitalism. He is the author of Foucault's Struggles (Keio University Press) and Michel Foucault (Kodansha), and has translated into Japanese works by Michael Hardt, Antonio Negri, and Andreas Malm.
