À propos de cet audio
Fresh out of school, Dr. Crane takes on a new patient who both intrigues and unnerves him. Charming, manipulative, and amoral, Max has exactly the sort of mind Crane finds himself drawn to with fictional characters.
As Max weaves himself into Crane's life, Crane realizes that while fiction might be safe, Max certainly is not.
When the professional line between them thins, who gets to define where one man ends and the other begins?
©2016 Bey Deckard (P)2016 Bey DeckardThe story takes place in Montreal. I live 20 minutes from Montreal. I'm French Canadian. I can forgive the narrator for attempting a broken Quebec English accent, those usually come out wrong, like they're from France and it's hilarious to us Quebecers. But the mispronunciations of names REALLY pulled me out of the story. The last name Ouimet is said many times. Narrator pronounces Wee-mah. The "et" should sound like the "eah" in "yeah". It irritated me to no end. But not as bad as the name Édouard. It's pronounced "Ey-Doo-Are", not "are-doo-ard". Seriously. I wanted to scream every time. I don't understand how this happened cuz Bey Deckard lives in Montreal, and his bio says he speaks French. I mean, how hard would it have been for the narrator to google the pronunciations? (J'veux dire, come on! Il prononçait "monsieur" MON-sieux, avec le son "on' bien rond. Pis tout ce temps là, c'était supossé être un Québécois qui parlait au personnage principal. Pourquoi????)
Sorry, I had to rant. I regret listening to this book. I should've read it instead. If you're from Quebec, do yourself a favor and don't opt for the audio version.
IF YOU ACTYUALLY SPEAK FRENCH, I recommend READING
