Daliah Husu is a writer and a poet, whose work focuses on themes of love, self-acceptance, and spiritual and emotional fulfillment. Her lifelong struggle with gender identity, sexuality, social acceptance, and substance abuse has inspired her to share her remarkable story of survival. Born into poverty in the most dangerous slum of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Daliah had many challenges to overcome from a young age. At the age of eight, she moved to New Jersey to live with her estranged mother, her brother, and her stepfather, and a new world of possibilities opened up to her. After transitioning from male-to-female in 2007, Daliah graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design from Miami International University of Art and Design. Since, she has dedicated herself to exploring various forms of artistic expression, ranging from costume design, acting, modeling, dancing, and a new-found passion for writing. Since going public with her story in March 2016, Daliah has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, and online publications, such as Closer Magazine UK, The Daily Mirror UK, Seattle Gay News, The Florida Agenda, GAIA Women’s Magazine, and others. She has been a guest on "The Queer Life Radio Show," Outsources Radio, and Wild Planet Radio. More recently, Daliah has been a contributor to renowned author Warren Adler's "Writers Of The World" campaign and Viga Boland's latest book "Don't Write Your Memoir Without Me!" Daliah is also contributing writer for Transoutloud and Out News Global UK.
