I was born in 1962 and grew up in the small river town of Martins Ferry, Ohio, near Wheeling, West Virginia, in the United States. It was a magical place in many ways, as there were plenty of hills and woods to explore, an old cave, the river, and of course the "Orange Crik." Though I've made my home in Copley, Ohio, since 1989, and I love it here, my childhood memories of growing up in Martins Ferry often kick down the doors of my imagination and force their way in. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in English Education and eventually enlisted in the Army, becoming a Journalist and the editor of the Army post newspaper. After being honorably discharged, I entered the corporate world to write business proposals, working for several different banks and at times managing proposal teams. I am a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals. I am a graduate of the Writer's Digest Novel Writing Course, attend Context (a conference for writers) in Columbus, Ohio, when able, and am always reading too many books simultaneously. I love creating characters, worlds, and crazy situations. My novel, Dreamworld Book One: Prometheus Stumbles, an apocalyptic, futuristic thriller, is looking for a home, and it may just end up on here as an eBook. Over the coming days, weeks, and months, I will be posting more of my short stories on here for people to read, so you can get a taste of what my storytelling is like. My goal is to make a little extra money to help with college expenses (my oldest child will be entering a university this fall). If you buy any of my stories, please post a review if you have the time, whether short or long, positive or negative. Everyone wants positive feedback, but I will use negative feedback as a learning tool. If you want to know if I blog, I do, very occasionally, at http://edgosney.wordpress.com/, although I haven't done much blogging as of late. There are a few book reviews on it, as I am a member of LibraryThing's Early Reviewers, along with other comments may or may not bore you. My LibraryThing author page is located at http://www.librarything.com/author/gosneyed. Some of my favorite novels and book series include the following, in no particular order (and this list will continue to grow as I have time to add to it): The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner They Hyperion Quartet by Dan Simmons The Academy Series (Priscilla Hutchins)by Jack McDevitt The Stand by Stephen King A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Henderson the Rain King by Saul Bellow The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay Zones of Thought series by Vernor Vinge The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
