Histoire
In one bloody night, three of Washington’s most powerful politicians are executed with surgical precision. Their assassins then deliver a shocking ultimatum to the American government: set aside partisan politics and restore power to the people. No one, they warn, is out of their reach—not even the president. A joint FBI-CIA task force reveals the killers are elite military commandos, but no one knows exactly who they are or when they will strike next.

Description
When presidential candidate Josh Alexander's motorcade is ambushed by a group of terrorists, the nation is thrown into turmoil. Two weeks following the attack, Alexander is carried to victory by a sympathy vote, but his assailants have not been found. On the surface, it appears to be the work of al-Qaeda, and soon the FBI and the rest of the government begin scouring the world for jihadists. But then CIA Director Irene Kennedy and Special Agent Skip McMahon are presented with classified information so toxic that they consider destroying it altogether, as it contains intelligence pointing to some of the most powerful players in Washington.
Enter Mitch Rapp, the one man reckless enough to follow the evidence to its explosive conclusion. His journey takes him through the shadowy world of contract killers, into the darkest corners of the globe, and eventually back to Washington, where the fragile pillars of power are shaken to the core.

Narrator
This was another great Mitch Rapp story by Vince Flynn. It was a bit different from his other novels in that there wasn’t too much loud and gore and although I loved all the other stories, this took on a more cerebral feeling. The skullduggery and underhanded plot was great.
I forgot how much I didn’t enjoy George Guidall’s voice so that was a distraction for me. Soft and high one moment and then overly loud and shrill the next. I think Flynn’s stories would be served better with another narrator.

My first Flynn
I've always liked spy thrillers but it seemed most I've been reading have written by European authors, mostly British. I'd been wanting to find a good American author to read, came across Vince Flynn and decided to give him a try. Was it the greatest book ever written? No. But, it was an enjoyable listen and I'll read him again, maybe my next listen. The action was fast paced and you wanted to keep listening to hear what was going to happen, isn't that what you want out of a book? It was entertaining!

Another great fanciful diversion
If you would like to take a break from the mundane trivia of everyday life and spend a few hours in a make-believe world of action, justice, and retribution, Vince Flynn is your ticket. His good guys are wonderfully good and powerful, the bad guys absolutely despicable, and in the end, justice will always prevail. Recently I started from the beginning of the series and intend to continue to the latest. Those read by George Guidall are thoroughly enjoyable. Those by other readers, not so much. If you like this kind of entertainment, I suggest you do the series. Get to know the characters and their predilections. Take a great trip through the wild, crazy, often violent, but never disappointing world of Mitch Rapp.

Mitch Rapp does it again!
Mitch Rapp is the irreverant, politically incorrect protagonist who you love to see in action, but cringe when it happens. Another of Vince Flynn's fast moving, fly by the seat of your pants action novels. For a Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp fan, its all you can ask for! Great fast read and well worth your time. If you look at the world through the commons sense, "whats wrong with doing it this way" attitude, then you will love this book. I found myself listening in the garage for a few minutes every time I had to get out of my car.

I love Mitch Rapp! Love the narrator and the writing style is so easy to follow. Can't go wrong with any of Flynn's books. All of his books are a must read!

The best
A complicated, easy to follow mystery read by one of my favorite guys. CIA, Secret Service and FBI all involved. Domestic and forign intrigue. Through the assinations, political bad guys, Swiss bankers and hired killers comes a tough, no nonsense, heavy from the CIA and away we go. A must read. It will intimidate you, then let you smile.

Non-Stop Action with a Bang
Act of Treason was easy to get into and fast became a listen that I couldn't put down.
Mitch Rapp, the Maverick CIA agent, catches the bad guy who blew up the motorcade of a Presidential candidate. The Politico's of the time want to try the bomber in the US court system. This is a glimpse into a world of, what if we let the Terrorists use our courts?
It's thought provoking with non-stop action which makes for a fun listen all the way.

Order to Kill, Mitch Rapp 15, now available...
...for pre-order at Audible! The release date in October 11, 2016. Order to Kill is the second Mitch Rapp series book written by Kyle Mills. The Survivor, Mills' first, did not disappoint.
Vince Flynn is my all time favorite espionage thriller writer and Mitch Rapp is my favorite protagonist. The Rapp series is the only series I have ever read/listened to completely in order twice.
Act of Treason is Book 9 in the series but was the 7th in order written. Mitch Rapp is still reeling from the recent loss of his wife and unborn child (in the novel Consent to Kill). Act of Treason is about a false flag attack on the US president and members of his administration. The attack appears to be by jihadists, but is actually carried off by high US government officials. Th novel is a solid 5 star thriller. Narration by George Guidall is superb as always.
My intent is to listen to the series in order again before October 11. Of course I'll listen to Vince Flynn's first novel, Term Limits, which is not part of the Mitch Rapp series before the Rapp series.

Big Vince Flynn Fan
Another fine story about righteousness and justice. Yes there is violence and swear words in this book, so if you don't like either, pass on this one.
Otherwise, this book delivers on blistering entertainment and all about "getting the job done" in and efficient and brilliant manner.
I'm a Vince Flynn fan and this one is in the top quartile of Flynn books.
A fine performance by George Guidall to boot!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
