This was such a great start to this series! I am such a fan of Catherine's writing, they are such a comfort read to me and I just get lost in her words. The way in which Catherine captures grief and healing, just leaves you breathless. As anyone who has lost someone can truly relate the the ache that is left behind and the struggle to find yourself and to just take a step forward.

Taylor struggled so much with the loss of her mother, she was determined to never let anyone in, but the more time she spent in Sutter Lake, the harder that became. Walker was this calm and supportive character, he had such patience and never pushed and how he fell in love with Taylor.

As always the suspense in this one was really intriguing and kept me guessing up until the very end! The audio for this one was fantastic, the narrators did such a good job capturing the emotions, and I just couldn't stop listening!

Taylor’s grieving and looking for peace. Walker’s steady, protective, and quietly carrying his own heartbreak. Their slow burn romance in Sutter Lake is tender, emotional, and full of that signature Catherine Cowles suspense that keeps you guessing.

The narrators did a good job—perfect pacing and they captured the emotional depth of both characters. A heartfelt, suspenseful listen from start to finish.

It wasn't OMG Wow Amazing, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm excited to continue the series. I'm curious to find out what everyone else's stories are and how they'll move forward.

It wonderful listening to female narrators that can do decent male voices. And vice versa.

Taylor is grieving the loss of her mother and decides she needs a change of pace and location and decides to move to Sutter Lake for a year. There she meets Walker, he’s a cop who’s parents also own the property she is living on. Taylor is having a hard time letting someone else in because she is scared of losing them, Walker is slowly trying to break down her walls. There are also girls going missing and turning up dead, which thrusts Walker right into the middle of it.

I love how the author built the setting and all the details she uses on her characters. I fell in love with the Cole family and how they welcome Taylor into their fold. I don't normally enjoy suspense filled plots, but it wasn't too long drawn out and it resolved quickly, so I surprisingly enjoyed it. Loving this series so far!

I love Catherine cowles stories! I can tell Sutter Lake is going to be good but I think the audiobook just wasn’t for me. Will continue the series in reading instead!

I loved this book. Was so sweet., but also generic. But still so sweet , like a hallmark movie.

I enjoy the story, but male narrator is AWFUL. He ends every sentence with an annoying breathy note. It’s extremely CRINGY!
