The seventh novel in the ALEX VERUS series sees our favourite Diviner finally run out of time. When his enemies put an execution order on Alex, he finds himself making desperate choices to keep himself and those he loves alive. 

Alex is pushed to the limit in this novel, with tempers flaring as he does everything he can to keep Luna, Anne, and Veri safe. Seeing Alex and his friends fight to think through every obstacle was as exciting as ever, especially when the circumstances felt insurmountable. 

The stakes could not have been higher, the action was thrilling, and the drama led to an exciting ending. I’m very excited to see where this series goes next, since Alex is in more danger now than he’s ever been before.

not my Favorite Verus book. It became clear to me that this book served no purpose other than to sell the next book. It started promising , the same great world of Mages and spells and wards.

But then nothing after, Alex had no redemption what so ever, just chapter after chapter of Alex being stepped on, and in the end.....nothing....i am so tempted to get the next book because i am so unsatisfied with how the story ended. But i am resisting because i am so Angry at where we ended this book
