À propos de cet audio
A small mountain town is isolated by a snowstorm as an ancient evil, gone pandemic, turns the residents into the living dead. Almost overnight the town becomes a snowy tomb of the roaming, hungry infected.
Stranded by the weather, hiding, a small group of survivors follows the progress of the disease as society around them and around the world begins to break down.
Determined to escape, they find that the normal rules of civilization don't apply anymore. Will they be able to adapt to this strange, hungry new world?

..and her exploration of the virus's origin after a disaster in Haiti, WHO press conferences, and international responses to civilizational collapse is well-reasoned and appreciated.
Unfortunately, nothing in particular struck me as original (except, perhaps, some of the sillier strategies to survive zombie attacks like kidnapping children from orphanages and throwing them at zombie hordes to slow them down).
Overall, when not outrageously stoopid, the book is distinctly "below-average".
Sadly, reader Emily Beresford doesn't help the situation. Don't get me wrong, Beresford is a professional narrator - delivering commendable diction, cadence, and timbre.. as well as remarkably emotiveness - but her persistent overenunciation and injudicious mid-sentence deep breaths are striking. Simultaneously, Beresford's affected male voices are cartoonish and her Arabic/Asian accents are frankly god-awful.
Altogether, 'Contagion' rates 3.5 stars out of 10. You really need to set logic aside to enjoy the book - but if you can manage it, it's an unintentionally raucous laugh-out-loud bit of brain-rotting Horror-genre junk food. It was a reasonable distraction for free, but when it leaves the 'Plus' menu, you're an idiot to invest a Credit. You should spend your money on something else.
[Note: The Taliban strapping explosives to random women & girls and sending them out as human bombs against the undead (because of? misogyny? I guess?) is one of the funniest feminist agenda messages that I have ever read. Why not gays, Ms. Albemont?😜]
