Warhammer's most Heroic Coward!
I had stared at the Cain audiodramas for a few years before finally buying one. I love the Warhammer setting and I have to say I loved this story. Cain is a lazy self serving coward, but he's smart enough to know that sometimes it's in one's self interest to do what has to be done. It's just that he'll try every other option first. In a way it reminds me of Churchill's quote about America. And even though he tries everything to avoid it, when the chips are down, he is the hero people think he is. This tale starts with a bit of a mystery- some missing soldiers. And Cain reluctantly leading the search for them. His self serving style often catches people off guard, since they expect the more selfless hero. But he gets the job done. I loved the story so much I purchased his other audiodrama and his first three novels on Kindle and have already started on the third.

Too short
The voice acting was fine. The hyper masculinity of a WH40K novel embodied, although an odd choice of the narrator to provide a different voice for the "memoir" version of themselves.
However, the story was far too short to be worth the asking price. Barely an hour long, it felt like two episodes of a particularly well done podcast. Were the series to continue in 30 minutes episodes every month, I would happily subscribe at $3-$5pcm, but this really feels like a wasted Audible credit.
