À propos de cet audio
Death at a Highland Wedding is the fourth installment in New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong's gripping Rip Through Time Novels.
After slipping 150 years into the past, modern-day homicide detective Mallory Atkinson has embraced her new life in Victorian Scotland as housemaid Catriona Mitchel. Although it isn’t what she expected, she's developed real, meaningful relationships with the people around her and has come to love her role as assistant to undertaker Dr. Duncan Gray and Detective Hugh McCreadie.
Mallory, Gray, and McCreadie are on their way to the Scottish Highlands for McCreadie's younger sister's wedding. The McCreadies and the groom’s family, the Cranstons, have a complicated history which has made the weekend quite uncomfortable. But the Cranston estate is beautiful so Gray and Mallory decide to escape the stifling company and set off to explore the castle and surrounding wilderness. They discover that the groom, Archie Cranston, a slightly pompous and prickly man, has set up deadly traps in the woods for the endangered Scottish wildcats, and they soon come across a cat who's been caught and severely injured. Oddly, Mallory notices the cat's injuries don't match up with the intricacies of the trap. These strange irregularities, combined with the secretive and erratic behavior of the groom, put Mallory and Duncan on edge. And then when one of the guests is murdered, they must work fast to uncover the murderer before another life is lost.
New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong’s unique time travel mystery series continues to entertain as Mallory adjusts to life in the 1870s.

Sloooow Burn Series
Narrator, great.
Author, one of my faves.
Series and performance, awesome.
Listen. I can only give this 4 stars, because although I have been a Kelley Armstrong fan for nearly 20 years (love all her stories and universes!) SPOILER this slow burn is so slow! I need Grey and Mallory to confess their feelings already! I had high hopes this was going to be the one, but alas, my heart. Guess I'll be here, just waiting for the next in the series, again, here's hoping.

Loved as usual
Another good little murder mystery with this book. I enjoy the characters and the distinct personalities of them all. Going through Mallory's train of thought to solve crimes is always enjoyable! I'm interested to see how the relationships progress, and to see if she manages to stay away from her like in present!

Slow burn is killing me 🫠
Dissapointed in the ending, even though the story was good in general.
Narrator is, as with the other books, very good! Let's hope book 5 will give us what we really want 🤞

Super disappointing.
The other books in the series were so amazing and I eagerly awaited the release of this one. However, it was very…rambling. It was not nearly as engaging as the others felt like the author had no plan for the story and was just figuring it out as she went along. It was also hard to follow at times with all the wild goose chases and dead ends.
And, perhaps the MOST ridiculous aspect was that Mallory, who is assertive and clever and has a clear understanding of so many things is so overly obtuse when it comes to her relationship with Duncan. AND that she would CHOOSE to stay in another era because she loves a dude and then spend most of the book trying to convince herself that he doesn’t love her and it will never work out. That felt like pure manipulation by the author to stretch the series out into yet another book of unrequited love. I’m done with the series now. It’s lost its original, engaging storyline and morphed into a money maker for the author. 🫤
The narrator was, as usual, quite talented and did a superb job of creating each character!

What the actual hell
This fourth installation of the series felt like a deviation from the rest. I wish I had stopped on book 3. I felt like this book was more upsetting and violent than the first three. Also, it feels like she took a step backward in the romance storyline. The ballsy and assertive Mallory has been replaced by a wishy-washy girl in order to drag out the slow burn. I’m so disappointed and won’t be continuing the series if she produces anymore books.
