Learned More Than Expected

I'm not terrible with finances but I thought any learning could help me improve. I was in for a treat. not only did it give me a whole new toll set to reach the next level it started to give me simple and achievable actions to reach my goals. I recommend this book for people in financial woes and people doing well. I wish I had this before I graduated high school

Great for Millennials learning to manage their money

This book was absolutely eye opening! I had always been a fan of Gail’s TV show “Till Debt Do Us Part” and was thrilled to see she had created this audiobook. Her voice has inspired me to “grow up” as she would say and gave me a strong foundation to be more responsible with my finances.

Decent Read

I bought this books in hopes of additional knowledge about my finances but it fell short. If you are not in debt, I would not recommend it. I rated it 5 stars because this could help a person experiencing financial crisis immensely.

Masterful, definitive and applicable.

Be prepared to change.

The definitive lesson from this book is: if you don't mean it when you say " I want to dig myself out of debt", just put it down.

This book has so much useful information it's hard not to write another book on how to apply it, but when you have that nagging feeling in the back of your mind that there always seems to be too much month left at the end of your money (her own catchphrase), this book becomes a must-listen/read.

Do yourself a huge favor. get this book, listen to it, start taking charge of your own life.

Financial Goddess

So you want to learn how to get out of debt and stay out? This book is for you. Gail writes in sensible language that is easy to understand. It’s not easy to do it (and any book claiming it’s easy is lying!) but if you’re up for the challenge, here are step by step instructions just like the steps walked by the people on the hit show Til Debt Do Us Part. I know, I was one and now I’m debt free! Read it, live it. #Audible1

This came at the right time.

I personally have been looking for guidance on budgeting, debt management and money in general and this was perfect. I have so far followed her steps and am feeling good and have started digging myself out. I feel more confident and excited about my finances than I have ever felt before. Not knowing where to start or what to do I saw this book on sale and decided to start here. I couldn't be happier that I did. Thank you Gail for your no sugar coating, pull up your socks attitude, tips and even the homework.

Gail's Narrations are Hilarious xD

Really enjoyable book with very solid advice for anyone struggling with debt. This a no-nonsense book that gets to the point and calls you out on your financial misbehavior. She will help you, but not without mocking you and giving you a kick in the ass. Awesome book!

Too focused on Canadian perspective

I had high hopes for this since I enjoyed watching Gail on her 'til debt do us part' series. However I can't recommend this book. Too much of it is either not applicable or not address if you live in the United States.

For example:
1. When talking about credit ratings the book discusses the system used in Canada.
2. Considerations for how to address Health Care Costs (Premiums, HSAs, copays, RX, etc.) are not even addressed (since Canada has universal healthcare).
3. When discussing what type of savings plan to use for emergency fund, Gail discusses a savings plan that is not even available in United States.
4. Last, when discussing savings for college products such as educational savings accounts and 529 plans were not even discussed (since Canada has something different).

Some of the concepts are still applicable, but there there are better choices if you live in the United States.
