Harrison Phillip Fletcher III isn't supposed to be here. Not in Burlington, Vermont, not running Vino & Veritas, a quaint inclusive bookstore and wine bar, and definitely not still alive, at 42. Also not supposed to be here? An unexpected delivery of chickens.

Finn Barnes knows chickens. The burly organic farmer knows all about rare breed poultry, but dealing with a hot older bookseller is an entirely different matter. City-slicker types like Harrison never end up staying in Vermont for the long-term.

They should steer clear of each other. But the flare of attraction is mutual. And somehow amid book discussions and farm tours, they discover plenty in common. Now they're stealing kisses in Finn's barn, sneaking out like teens, and burning up the sheets.

What starts as a fling brings very real feelings for two lonely souls, but a future together seems as unlikely as chickens in a bookstore. Feathers may be flying, but learning to trust takes time neither may have. Can they take a leap of faith together before it's too late?

Narration felt so ruched on Finn’s side I almost gave up.
Dialogues were so hard to follow…
Story is good , but I just could not enjoy it … I think I will buy it to read instead of audio.

Sweet and spicy. Excellent narration, I thought it was spot on for both characters. The female voice could use some work but I'm not complaining! I enjoyed this book a lot.

Ruffled feathers in the best way!!

The performance wasn't so bad that I stopped listening but one was SO rushed - not only the speed but it felt like a slew of run-on sentences. And the fluctuation in Alex's/Finn's voice was over the top. In contrast, Kirt's/Harrison's voice was a good pace and though I don't really like the pompous tone he had I understand that it's part of the character. If they had both been fast it might have been easy to simply slow down the player speed, but with the difference and the run-on sentences, that wasn't the case. The story was fine and had a lot of cute, teasing moments.

I love the fantastic voice acting of Alexander Cendece every time. he's so funny, and on point in each story scenes. Kirt Grave is very good to but can be a little bit slow and the tone of the voice he uses is something I don't really prefer.

The story is really cute and heart-melting. As a guy with anxiety. I love the tenderness of Finn he gives to his man. He's really perfect husband to have.

Cute story that had me rooting for the characters the whole time. They are so wonderfully thirsty for each other form the get go! Loved the sprinkle of bird puns and steamy sex scenes. The only thing that pulled me out of the story was the pacing/style of the nerrorators was so different, one slow and with little change in voice for different characters, the other fast and with enthusiasm for giving characters different voices. It's not a deal breaker but something that pulled me out of the story a bit.

Cute Story about two men with differences coming together. I like the idea of having two narrators. However, can I suggest keeping each character the same voice every chapter? It's really jarring to have a character change their voice back and forth every chapter. I'm guessing each narrator is assigned certain chapters, but it would help the listener for them to both work on the same chapter together so they can keep the characters seperate.

The story had potential but the narration did not work here - the book store owner sounds so old abd the womens’ voices are REALLY bad! The narration made it impossible to want to stick through the draggy bits of the story and even the good bits were hard to take…sorry- a miss for me!
