Description

The Conclusion of Gwen and JC's Story

I came to The Sky Launch to begin fresh, away from the horrors of my past. The circumstances that brought me here were not the best, but I've become good friends with Alayna and Hudson Pierce, and my family has healed in ways I never thought they could. With them around me, I've never felt more at home. But starting anew means letting go. And there are some things I don't want to leave behind - like JC, the man who taught me how to let loose. The man I wasn't supposed to love. The man I don't want to lose. My life is safe now. The threats from before have become less menacing, and I'm faced with a choice: either move on completely or keep holding to the hope that JC loves me enough to come and find me.

Insecure Babble for too Many Hours

My goodness, this series is full of insecure people but listening to Gwen go on and on with the ramblings in her head is enough to make you wonder when will the book get to something interesting: not until the last two hours. Skip this book! It could have been so much better if we could have focused on a stronger plot line rather than hear every insecure thought that popped into this girl’s head.

I want to like these books but...

The angst is created by having really, really insecure women who overthink everything. It’s so annoying.
Also, I’m over female narrators performing male voices. It takes me out of the moment. It’s usually quite unconvincing.

Dying of sugar overload

The story is weak, illogical, and I was so weary of the histrionics by the end I could scarcely finish it. The amount of “I love you’s” almost made me puke.

Not exciting

This story could have had some exciting plot twists. Writer missed a number of opportunities.

Excellent trilogy and additions

Laurelin Paige writes with in-depth knowledge of the various human diagnoses/problems tying them expertly into interesting, in depth tantalizing stories. I wasn’t able to put any of these books down and look forward to her stories.

love how it ended

I think the author did a great job with the story and keeping the reader hanging on for more.

I don't usually 1 Star a story but this one... Ugh

Where to begin (no spoilers needed)
1. After the first story ends, she is with someone else.
2. She over-reacts about everything, then goes on 5 minute mental tirades.
3. The ending... I probably skipped 1 hour and 20 minutes of the last 2 hours as it was her spiraling out of control over everything (a couple of items were justified)

What did I like?
1. The sister rocks
2. Her brother... Let's say therapy is a good thing!
3. The author understands passion is more than sex and applied focus on intimacy, communication, respect and trust.

Final thoughts. I really do like Laurelin's writing style and how she builds the world we get to visit. This series was just not my cup of tea. I have read many other books by her that I thought were good or great. I know that other people will love the story as they love bat-sh!t crazy heroines and that is definitely a good thing.

I will continue to read her stories!

Frustrating

I enjoy Laurelin Paiges’ romance novels. They don’t leave much for the imagination and are well presented. Unfortunately I aa totally disgusted with Gwen and her behavior. She continually professed her undying love and desire for JC, yet even when he explained everything, she still complain! Her narration was very irritating. All her sentences ended like she was asking a question even when she wasn’t. Many times I said “ I can’t finish this book, she is driving me crazy!” But I was too invested in the series to stop. In the end all was well but I didn’t find the journey there very pleasant Because she was too frustrating and foolish in my opinion! I would’ve been thrilled with that man! LOL. It was still worth reading though no matter how frustrated she made me!
