Blakely and Emmett’s story was everything! I love the marriage of convenience trope, especially when the two are friends to start. Of course they end up falling for each other, but Blakely is scared to lose Emmett so she runs from him. Two and a half years later an investigation brings her back into his orbit. Being pushed together makes their feelings come rushing back and they can’t ignore them anymore. There are so many more elements to this story, that was just the tip of the iceberg. This book was so intense, had me in tears, had me terrified and had me swooning. It was an epic roller coaster that I didn’t want to end. Jason and Vanessa were simply amazing! A few of my favorite quotes from the book:

Every image I have of her, of that night, was muted. Now I see her in color, and God, she’s every hue that exists.

“Let me know when you decide what you really want, Blake. I’m willing to give you love, but you have to be willing to take it.”
