À propos de cet audio

A Warhammer Crime Story

Tormented by his past, Probator Quillon Drask’s reputation as the go-to detective for strange crimes has led him to the Polaris district of Varangantua. Warring families, corrupt officials, and a monstrous hunger stalk these streets, and Drask must overcome his own inner agonies to bring justice to the tormented city.

Listen to it because

See the world of the 41st millennium from street level, in a grisly crime drama that shines a light on what life is like in the Imperium's rancid underbelly.

The story

'This city eats men....'

Quillon Drask is a haunted man, wrestling with the daemons of his past. With a reputation that draws only the strangest cases, he is intimately familiar with the malevolent underbelly of Varangantua. Yet nothing that has gone before could have prepared the probator for the horrors which now blight the district of Polaris.

Faced with a savage crime with frightening implications, Drask is thrust into a game of corruption and conspiracy, warring families and blasphemous revelations. Only by mastering the bitter lessons of his career and his own tortured past can Drask hope to bring the perpetrators to justice, and curb the monstrous hunger which stalks the city.

My only criticism of this book is that they way overdid it on all the predator prey dialogue.
Otherwise a fun read with an interesting ending.

Good read. Exciting twists

I am looking forward to hearing more stories of Dracs and his investigations. Well read and easy to follow.

Interesting Story and Good Listen

This was my first Warhammer crime novel and I was positively surprised. It's an interesting mystery and the atmosphere reminded me of an old film noir. The main character did have me rolling my eyes at the overly poetic descriptions but it was more amusing than distracting.
As a Warhammer novel it feels like it fits perfectly in the universe. It felt like being in the boots of someone on a single world with no notions of what is happening in the wider universe. The bleak reality of the inhabitants of the city and the constant feeling of decay and abandonment from the Imperium is palpable in the descriptions of the city.

Very good intro into Warhammer crime

This is a truly excellent 40k style Noir detective story. Highly recommend for lovers of crime stories in general and 40k in particular. Our protagonist ends up investigating a series of incredibly gruesome murders involving ritualized organ harvesting in the dying Polaris district. His investigation starts ruffling the feathers of the nobility and it goes downhill rapidly from there for the detective.
