I hopped into the series without reading the first books so I was a bit in the dark about the characters. I enjoyed the narrator, great voice. The story was a bit predictable but the ending was sweet.

This was an excellent audiobook! The story kept you hooked throughout the duration of the book, I try to only listen to these in the car but this one I cannot stop listening to.

Lisa Gardner finally found a fascinating character to pair up with Boston PD Detective Sergeant D.D.Warren: abduction survivor and activist/vigilante Flora Dane (picture Jaycee Dugard with a razor blade & an attitude). In the 8th book in the series, we met this enigmatic woman - traumatized over a personal breakdown in character, morally driven to help fellow survivors, but ethically capable of justifying torture & violent murder. In this one, she signs up as a "Confidential Informant" - able to pursue investigative leads that police can't legally follow - and helps solve a case involving the murder of an entire family.. but for a single teenaged survivor who somehow managed to escape. The well-plotted, well-paced story is gritty, thought-provoking, and marked by drip-drip-drip revelations and plausible twists.

As to product quality: Brilliance Audio provides exemplary technical support to one of the best performances that I have heard from Kirsten Potter. Her diction, timbre, cadence, pacing, voice-acting, and tone are unimpeachable. My one issue is that sound engineers struggle to soften Potter's natural sibilance on this project (this audiobook sounds much better over speakers than with earbuds).

Altogether, 'Look For Me' is the first in Gardner's series of 'D.D.Warren' Crime Thrillers that makes full use of the 'Flora Dane' character - an imperfect but supportable strong female character that can act as an effective counterbalance to the sometimes frustrating fiercely combative police detective. The climax is a little bit 'Lifetime Movie' overdramatic, but this is a 9/10-star effort. I can definitely recommend spending the Credit.

This is a good novel with many twists and turns. I can't say it was her best book but it was still excellent.
