Description

“Anyone who wants to get better at anything should read [Peak]. Rest assured that the book is not mere theory. Ericsson’s research focuses on the real world, and he explains in detail, with examples, how all of us can apply the principles of great performance in our work or in any other part of our lives.” (Fortune)

Anders Ericsson has made a career studying chess champions, violin virtuosos, star athletes, and memory mavens. Peak distills three decades of myth-shattering research into a powerful learning strategy that is fundamentally different from the way people traditionally think about acquiring new abilities. Whether you want to stand out at work, improve your athletic or musical performance, or help your child achieve academic goals, Ericsson’s revolutionary methods will show you how to improve at almost any skill that matters to you.

voice

With audiobooks, I always find the content interesting, but often I have a problem with the voice. The choice of the voice should be as neutral as it can be. The narrator of this audiobook talks like he has a very hot piece of pie in his mouth, and it's very annoying, it makes me less focus and have hard time understanding everything he says...

Destroys the myth of innate talent

Fantastic read, love how it referenced studies and provided concrete examples to back up the ideas.

Amazing

This is the best book that I have ever read on achieving peak performance. It has a similar sentiment to Robert Greene's Mastery, but with much more in depth review into the specifics. The research is presented in an interesting way which makes the information easy to follow. Concrete examples are provided through out. I can't speak highly enough about this book.

The best book on how to become an expert in your field.

I will highly recommend this book to any one who is in the quest to make himself better. If you can read only one book on self development then just read/listen to this book.
