Are you tired of being bombarded by toxins at every turn? Do you want a more natural, "crunchy" approach to the world (with or without the beige aesthetic)? Well, grab your kombucha and join Emily Morrow on a journey to a more wholesome existence with Really Very Crunchy: A Beginner's Guide to Removing Toxins from Your Life without Adding Them to Your Personality.
Emily Morrow, creator of the viral "Really Very Crunchy" social media accounts, guides you through the ins and outs of starting and maintaining a crunchy lifestyle. With her signature humor and a delightfully sincere approach, she will show you how crunchy is a spectrum and how every little choice you make is one small step away from crunch-ifying your own life. From the basics of crunchy to the more advanced choices (beets instead of blush, anyone?), you will quickly say goodbye to toxic chemicals and hello to a healthier, happier way of living.
Funny, accessible, and encouraging--never judgmental or fear-based--Emily will help you:
- Learn how to make simple, mindful steps toward natural living
- Implement healthy, life-giving activities into your family's routine
- Navigate the challenges of adopting the crunchy way of life with sensible, easy-to-implement ideas
- Develop a new mindset when it comes to shopping for clothes, food, and cleaning products
- Discover natural remedies for just about everything
So what are you waiting for? Embrace your inner crunchy (or silky, if that's where you're starting) and dip your toes into a healthier, more sustainable life. Who knows? You may find out you're Really Very Crunchy after all.

Lark Smith has always had a plan for her life: find a fantastic guy, create a marriage as blissful as her parents’, pop out a couple of kids, and build a rewarding career as an oncologist. Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

Comedian Pierre Novellie was on stage when a heckler suggested he was autistic. Usually, this disruption would be water off a duck's back but two things made this heckler different: first, he was himself autistic. Second, he turned out to be absolutely right. This random encounter led to a diagnosis of autism at the age of 31 that unravelled his world, explained his struggles and answered questions that had bothered him for his entire life: why were the other kids obsessed with Britney Spears instead of The Goon Show? Why don't people ever say what they mean? Why is everyone chewing so loudly?

Histoire3
On September 11, 1999, humanity made a monumental discovery in the vastness of space. Scientists uncovered an asteroid of immense scientific importance—a colossal celestial entity. As massive as an aircraft carrier and towering as high as the iconic Empire State Building, this cosmic titan was later named Bennu. Remarkable for much more than its size, Bennu belonged to a rare breed of asteroids capable of revealing the essence of life itself. But just as Bennu became a beacon of promise, researchers identified a grave danger.

I’ve been following Really Very Crunchy for some time, and after spending a little too much time binge-watching the skits at 3 in the morning (whoops — I’m working on that!), I can most definitely say that I recognized many aspects of myself in Emily’s character (minus the overly neurotic moments, thankfully). When I found out that Emily was writing a book, I was ecstatic and immediately went looking for the release date.
I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I must say — everything about this read (or in this case, listen) was absolutely wonderful! As Jason mentioned on an Instagram reel, Emily truly is a great writer — she expresses herself with both elegant cadence and humour, tied into a nice present wrapped in compostable wrapping paper and twine.
It was also very informative — even though I’d already consider myself a good level of crunchy, I learned many new things and found myself taking spontaneous notes while cleaning (I kept having to rewind due to distractions… 😅). I finished the book in less than twelve hours — it would have been in one go if I didn’t need to go to sleep (funnily enough, the chapter on sleep encouraged me to go to sleep earlier and save the rest until the morning)!
To anyone who has any level of interest in improving your health and the health of the planet, I would highly recommend this incredible read! It’s funny, lighthearted, and informative. I’ll definitely be reading/listening again in the future.
Oh, and another point — I saw Emily’s updates on her adventure of recording the audiobook, and I must say, she is most definitely a good performer! As someone who dabbles in acting and wants to begin doing voiceover work, I can totally understand the feeling of nerves. But Emily successfully worked through them and produced an absolute gem! 💜
A wonderful read
