À propos de cet audio

A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

The Emperor’s Children seek sensation above all else, but when Xantine's warband come upon an isolated Imperial world, he sees an opportunity to pursue the finer things in life. How long can the proud warlord maintain his 'perfect' rule – and will the planet survive his reign?

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a tantalising look into the gleefully twisted minds of the Emperor's Children, as an arrogant warlord strives to 'save' an Imperial world from its own imperfections.

THE STORY

Once a united Legion, the disparate splinters of the Emperor’s Children now eke out a violent, hedonistic existence between the stars, raiding and ravaging worlds to indulge their fathomless appetites.

Xantine, proud leader of the Adored and a true son of Fulgrim, wants more than simply pillaging backwater worlds. He soon finds what he has been searching for – Serrine, a wealthy but cruel planet festering under misrule and inequality, cut off from the Imperium by warp storms. It is too tantalising a prize to ignore, and Xantine sets out to bring perfection to his new world.

But perfection is an elusive concept, and as threats creep from the depths of Serrine and the ranks of the Adored, the rot at the heart of Xantine’s perfect rule is laid bare...

I was expecting the story to focus on what seemed like the key plot Point EI an EMPEROR'S CHILDREN WARBAND TAKING OVER A WORLD abandoned by the Imperium in a bloodless cue, by saving it from a genstealer cult and trying to "improve it" in their own twisted image. So of course naturally they just skipped that part, that really interesting world "rebuilding" and went right to the usual chaotic infighting nonsense that plagues many of these stories like grandfather nurgle is the nerrator.

Lot of missed opportunities in this story

I really enjoyed an Emperor's Children focused story. Definitely worth a listen if you are tired of Loyalist only stories

Great characters, plus twists and turns

it's pretty good. The last third of the book feels rushed and a bit contrived. Hope you like hearing “I am Xantine ,”

it is great for a story about Chaos marines and to see how their ship and crew operates in detail.

I really liked how this story started out felt really good and the characters were cool but as it went on the story kinda lost itself during part two and became boring has a few high moments in the middle and end but that’s about it

Really good start but gets boring and tedious half way through

Great narrator and story. If you are a fan of the best of the worst legions, the emperors children, then you will like it. Death to the corpse emperor

Solid narrator

Have you ever wanted to listen to an entire cast say something three times, to listen to them repeat themselves multiple times, to hear them say it in triplicate? Do you have short term memory loss, do you struggle to remember something that was said in the first half of the sentence, do you have an issue with your recollection?

Yes? Then buy this book, purchase it, spend you money. Because this guy love repeating himself like this, he enjoys being redundant, he fancies repetition for impact. Is this annoying to read aometh three times, is it bothersome, is it irritating?

If your cool with that then yeah, is alright. Narrator does an ok job and channels the emotions well and the author really does have a grasp of the emperor's children, they don't just feel like space marines in purple armor.

overall decent, the minus redundant sentences, the repetitive prose, the recycled utterances.

Author likes repeating himself
