Description

The city has become a warzone. Charlie and her companions must survive the gangs and corrupt government agents that are out to stake their claims on the nation’s riches. Should she try and flee to the countryside, with each neighborhood a potential trap and every house a threat? Or should she stay and fight the building tyranny?

Dwindling food supplies and the daily risk of capture are taking their toll. Mistakes are fatal, and the exhaustion that comes with living under constant danger is wearing them down.

Betrayal, pain, and death are the norm. Who can they turn to when everyone is the enemy? Charlie’s world is about to change, and decisions that she and the others make will lead to life or condemn them to a quick and merciless death.

Good next book.

This one continued the saga well. Not quite as dark as the first...slightly more mindlessly enjoyable while still being highly educational and keeping me dialed in chapter after chapter. .

need to keep the mistakes to a minimum!

over all a pretty good story pretty close to as good as the going home series! my only complaint is the number of mistakes! mostly getting characters names wrong making the story at times hard to follow! it was the same in book one, maybe even worse! still I will be getting the next book just hope they work on keeping the mistakes to a minimum!🍻

couldn't finish it

I absolutely love the survivalist / home series. I absolutely love Duke's narration. I struggled to get through the first book in this series due to poor characters and a low energy feeling to it. All of that prefaces this: the story is very hard to follow and the characters aren't likeable. I haven't been given a reason to care about them. Duke seems to be reading slower than normal and with less energy.

Pretty Good

Good book overall. Why no book three though? And it was a year and a half between the audio release of the 1st book and the 2nd.

Also, no big deal but it was odd that the author wouldn't know that Tennessee doesn't get cold enough to have their lakes freeze to skating conditions.

Good sequel

The action picked right up in book 2. The characters are fighting for their lives from the gangs and the government tyrants. Some got what they deserved. It was well worth the listen.

series grew on me.

think I fairly gave book 1 a 4 star rating, but the second book in this series had me engaged completely almost to the level of the original Home Series. it's also interesting just seen the overlapping time periods between the two different series.

love this series

this series is a bit darker than the going home series, but it is definitely worth the listen. I can't wait for the next book.
