Rule one: Don't look at the demon.
When I arrived at my uncle's house, I expected my relatives to be like me - outcast sorcerers who don't practice magic. I was right about the sorcery, but wrong about everything else.
Rule two: Don't listen to the demon.
My uncle chose a far deadlier power. He calls creatures of darkness into our world, binds them into service contracts, and sells them to the highest bidder. And I'm supposed to act like I don't know how illegal and dangerous it is.
Rule three: Don't talk to the demon.
All I had to do was keep my nose out of it. Pretend I didn't find the summoning circle in the basement. Pretend I didn't notice the shadowy being trapped inside it. Pretend I didn't break the rules. But I did, and now it's too late.

Long slow start
Read this in the order suggested for the Guild Codex universe meaning it was book 5 or 6. I am all over the place on this one. this first half is a 2. it was a brutal slog to get to chapter 13 which is when the action finally picks up. the rest is a 4 except when we get to see the scenes we have already experienced from Tori's perspective. those are real fun... I'd give those a 5. Glad this ends with her in the Crow and Hammer as the authors real strong suite is interesting characters interacting. This had far to little of that and awesome Demon never quite filled those boots.

Great companion novel!
Reviews seem to be split on this book. Personally I am on team better than the OG series.
I am totally hooked on the whole series. First book series I have come across that I feel is meant to be binged. While far from a great literary novel, the overall series has been a joy to listen too.
The pace is definitely slower. Robin in more calculated and cautious than Tori. As the first person narration shows.
Robin is the more relatable of the two as she approaches the world with all the uncertainty of a mild mannered 20 year old nerd. However her level of reserve allows the book to be a bit more sexually risky.
Overall if you enjoyed the Original series this book is just as good. A lot slower and a little more Juicy (o_-) (YA style, so not too juicy).

Amazing - Finished in a day!
I love this author and this book! Amazing and enthralling entertainment as always!! I couldn't stop listening. This book draws you in right away and is not stop action!

another great story in the series!
loved learning about a new character and how she came about before joining the crow and hammer guild. once I start one of these books, I don't want to stop until its done! ✔

Brain meets Brawn in a new adventure.
Poor Robin. she's really has a rough go of it. stuck between a rock and a hard place she makes a hard decision and it changes her life forever. Robin forges new bonds and alliances while trying to keep a grave secret.
Annette Marie has created a wonderful new world inside our own. with the demonized series we get to see a new side to the Lready existing story of the guild codex and earn more about what's going on. Her stories are amazing really brought to life to the point you forget it isn't real. Her work paired with Cris Dukheart's narration is an unmatchable pair.

A great author to follow
Annette's books are binge worthy reads with magic and complexity. they provide an excellent escape from the real world. Fun, sassy, steamy, and great story. Can't wait for more.
