Description

Lieutenant Jonathan Stride is quietly recovering from injuries sustained on his latest case when a rich doctor's baby is kidnapped and his peace is shattered. As suspicion builds that the doctor may have staged the baby’s disappearance, the relationship between the doctor and his wife and neighbors begins to disintegrate. A good whodunit!

Overall, I found this latest novel by Brian Freeman to be a good whodunit! Well-rounded characters kept me guessing until the end. Unfortunately, the audiobooks of Books # 3 (Stalked) and # 4 (The Watcher), in the Jonathan Stride series, cannot be sold within Canada due to the Publisher's copyright restrictions, so I missed what happened in Maggie Bei's life, and the traumatic life-threatening event that happened to our protagonist. :( However, aside from having missed some good stories, it did not detract from this one. Onward to the next book in the series, 'Spitting Devil'!
